The best BOOKS every MBBS fresher should know
Dedicated to those who passionately chase their dream of becoming a doctor, here are the books they should be aware of.
Let's dive deeper and find some books for the first year.
The subjects of the first year are:
- Anatomy
- Physiology
- Biochemistry
Anatomy
The initial thought that enters our minds when we think about anatomy is a skeleton hanging from the roof. That is not all about anatomy. Anatomy deals with many other systems too. Even anatomy in MBBS is subdivided into gross anatomy, embryology, histology and practicals.
Gross anatomy
Gross anatomy leads us to the topic of atlases. They provide us with a general summary(diagrams, pictures) of how each system and body part is arranged. They introduce the topics that we will be learning through the year.
There is no better atlas out there than Netter's atlas
The textbooks are next on the list. They are the books we must be reading for our exams.BD Chaurasia and Vishram Singh serve this purpose well. The content they provide and the clarity of their content are almost same and are enough for our exams.
At last, we will find some references.Gray's anatomy is known to be the ultimate reference book of many students as it combines the contents of both atlases (with diagrams) and exam-oriented books. However, it lacks contents of neurology completely.
